The theme of this year’s ALTA ONE conference in Colorado Springs was Mission: Protect, a call to protect the title industry and continue to reinforce the importance of title insurance. It also perfectly mirrors our priorities at DataTrace to help our customers protect their business with a focus on finding new revenue and optimizing efficiencies.

As with most conferences and industry events in 2023, it’s not so much about the quantity of people attending and/or exhibiting – although ALTA ONE seemed to have a good turn out – but rather about the quality of the content and conversations that occur during the events.

It’s clear from this event that industry executives are laser focused on two things: saving money and generating revenue, particularly with home equity which is expected to continue to grow over the next few years. People recognize that in the current purchase-market environment, strategic, data-informed marketing strategies combined with smart customer service-focused solutions are critical components to build business. There were several sessions on title automation and the efficiencies it can generate, a topic on everyone’s mind as they look to streamline operations. There was also a lot of emphasis on strengthening agent relationships and keeping talented staff.

Keynote speaker and football legend Terry Bradshaw focused his presentation on the importance of strong relationships and how they can help build long-term business, the power in a simple handshake, and how kindness and an emphasis on family can make a difference both personally and professionally.
